Top psychiatrist: Left thinkers have psychological disorder

There are quite a few “leftists” and/or “progressives” whose neurotic thinking, according to Dr. Rossiter’s view, is both irrational, childish and ruthless.

A top American psychiatrist has written a remarkable book (“The Liberal Mind – The Psychological Causes of Political Madness”) in which he states after thorough research that followers of left-wing ideology -in America ‘hope & change’ of the Democrats, in Europe socialism of left-wing parties calling themselves ‘progressive’- actually suffer from a psychological disorder. He comes to this conclusion because of the “strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions” of “left” thinking people.

Lyle Rossiter has been a certified forensic and clinical psychiatrist for more than 40 years and has treated more than 1,500 patients and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases on behalf of numerous public agencies, courts and attorneys. In his book, the veteran psychiatrist explains with crystal clarity why socialism (European socialism is usually called “liberalism” in the U.S.; therefore, to avoid confusion, this article will retain “socialism” or “progressives”) as Barack Obama is implementing it in America is nothing but a psychological disorder.

‘On the basis of strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern socialists ruthlessly undermine the most important principles upon which our freedom is based,’ Rossiter said. ‘Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adults and demand that a ‘parental’ government take care of them from cradle to grave.’

‘A social scientist who understands human nature will not deny the vital role of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity, as socialists do. A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, aspiration, personal responsibility and work ethic, as socialists do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create a forest of rules that over-regulates and over-burdens the citizens of a country and reduces their role to slavish followers of the state – as socialists do.’

According to Dr. Rossiter, the progressive agenda parasitizes the weakness and feelings of inferiority among the population by:
– creating and reinforcing victimhood;
– satisfying childish claims for recognition, indulgence and compensation;
– stirring up primitive feelings of envy;
– rejecting the sovereignty of the individual in order to subject him to the will of the government.

‘The roots of socialism -and its associated insanity- can be clearly understood in light of the growing up of children into adulthood, and how a disturbed growing up process leads to the irrational beliefs of the progressives,’ Rossiter explains. ‘When the modern leftist bemoans imagined victims, rants about imagined villains, and above all tries to control the lives of others who can take care of themselves just fine, the neurosis of the leftist is painfully revealed.’

In both the US and Europe, socialists/progressives have a strong tendency to downplay or deny social tensions and their causes and cling to the extreme of their dream of a government-imposed ‘multicultural’ society in which everyone is as ‘equal’ as possible – except for the absolute top, the government. This is, in fact, nothing but the time-honored Soviet model that, unfortunately, has become especially visible in the governance of the European Union. However, from a social, economic and financial point of view, such an enforced ‘leftist’ society is not only unsustainable but also unaffordable and -also as a result- ultimately totally unlivable.
